Re: FNG needs help!

Use the 3" Belltech '73-up spindles. If your truck is a '71-'72 all you need to change is the upper ball joint and the outer tie rod ends. If its a '67-'70 you will need to change BOTH upper and lower ball joints,...AND,... either use a conversion outer tie rod end,... or run a '71-'72 centerlink, inner tie rod, and '73-up outer tie rod. Hope thats not too confusing. I've done this and it works great.

Re: FNG needs help!

Here is a Belltech 3 inch drop spindle specifically for 71-72 trucks. No ball joint or tie rod changes required.

Re: FNG needs help!

Isn't it mandatory to run large diameter wheels with the 3" spindles? Minimum of 17" or something like that?

Re: FNG needs help!

I called Belltech a while back about the 3" spindle. They stated it is usually not necessary to run a larger rim. The most you may need to do is clearance the lower control arm a bit.

I am running 15x8 front and rear and will be going over to the 3" spindles after the holidays. ($I hope$) I am planning on going over to 20" rims down the road though.

Re: FNG needs help!

I run a 3 inch Belltech spindle set on my Blazer with 15 inch rally wheels. The wheel rubbed the control arm a lot. I mean a whole lot. I have had to clearance the lower arm before on other trucks with 2.5 inch spindles, but it was nothing like this was. I wound up running a pair of 7 inch wheels on the front.
