Anyone know what particular radiator out of late model gm will fit a first gen blazer?I was working on mine and a pair of pliers fell down and caused a small leak.So I took mine to my local radiator man and he says mine is 50% blocked and he doesnt think it will hold up to being rodded out.He can get me a new one for 150.00 bucks but he says if it was up to him he would get an aluminum one off a late model GM he said about mid 90's.he had a couple in there they look like they would bolt right in.I thought one of you may have already run into this and can point me in the right direction. I wanted to pick up a new one as well for my truck. Something more modern to fit my '68. I have an old one, but looking inside it's pretty gummed up and I'd rather get something with a newer look to fit the engine bay.

I'm curious to know this as well. Will be paired up with an LS1. Can't do a 94-96 Impala radiator or a 98-02 Camaro/Firebird radiator either because both of them have an angled neck on the filler or something.

I'd be bolting LT1 cooling fans to it from a '96 Impala.

The late model rad's have plastic ends that will leak. I had a 93 and replaced the rad. 3 times.

I'm not a fan of the late model GM rads either honestly. We get them in all the time at work and they just replace them... no practicle way of fixing them onless it is just a leaky tank.
I can't think of any that would drop right in... I'm sure there's one out there, but nothing is coming to mind at the moment.

They are plastic also.

TX_Firefighter had a thread a little while back where he used a 73-87 style radiator and how the bracket was modified to fit the taller radiator.

That wouldn't be an alluminum rad. I have one out od a 90 van...but it is still old school, and except for the lower hose angle, it was a direct fit.

i have a 95 plastic tank rad in my 72. it fit with some "massaging" at the bottom of the core support. a 10 ton portapower made up the 1/2" or so of room to clear the tanks. the top rubber supports will be cut in half to fit, and you will have to spend some time at the parts store to find 2 hoses with the right bends and diameters. but it will work. i like it. it hurts to watch the core support being spread, but it is nothing that is noticable from anywhere other than the radiator well.

Thanks for the input all.My small town radiator guy really likes the GM Rads Im not usually big on plastic.but i am big on cheap if its a good fix.Summit racing has one called a Be-Cool radiator for around $200.00.it is all aluminum.mine seems to be fine now that it is repaired but i know about the blockage and im going to start looking for a replacement.
