My Grandfather was there. He wasn't in the military but worked as a contract civilian for the Navy. Unfortunately I didnt know him well so I never heard about his time at Peal Harbor. My mother an uncle and an aunt were born there.
Ive been to the Arizona Memorial it really hits you in the gut. Most didnt even get a chance to fight back.

My Dad wasn't at Pearl Harbor during the attack,
but he was in and out as he was serving on the USS Storm King moving troops across the Pacific. He spent time in the Philippines as well.

Worked with a fellow who was on the USS Nevada, the one they beached so it wouldn't completely sink. It was interesting to hear his story of how it unfolded and what he experienced.

NAVY Retired, spent a visit to the ARIZONA Memorial every time our ship pulled into Hawaii, somber experience knowing that there are men entombed in the ship right below you.
