Re: Fuel injection
I've seen a few different versions, from Holley and Eldelbrack and I'm sure others. But they all seemed really expensive - like over $1000?

Re: Fuel injection
http://www.affordable-fuel-injection...evy-system.htm I don't know if this system is any good or not. I am starting to look into this, since I am planning on selling the 2005 and getting a 73-80 truck. Also how hard is it to use a tbi or multiport off of a later year?

Re: Fuel injection
It depends on what type of injection system you want to run.
It also depends on what type of 6 cylinder your talking about if you have a 4.3 V6 then its not too hard and if you have a I6 then it may be some what of a challange im not shure if theres any systems out there for an I6. Theres alot of kits out there and it all depends on what you want to run and how much you want or have to spend. That kit that jeff posted a link to looks really good and complete and its price is reasonable. Its gonna be really hard to get a complete kit for under a grand and thats what you need to go with since your truck is an '82 you will need to either run an external fuel pump or buy a fuel injection fuel tank. |

Re: Fuel injection
The cheapest kit might be a clapped out 87 pickup or 87-91 burb.

Re: Fuel injection
If you are talking about the factory '82, you mean I6.
They are out there, but like was said, plan on spending at a minimum $1000. http://cliffordperformance.net/ has alot of I6 pieces including a TBI kit.

Re: Fuel injection
when i had my 250 i had thrownt he idea around to modify a older 4.0L Mopar injection system to fit our trucks... i think with a little milling and tapping, and some creative wiring placement it would work.. the displacements and compression/cam profiles are similar so i would think you could use the stock ECM... and since they are in a ton of jeeps, they would be affordable and there are some aftermarket upgrades available too... pls you can pick up an old clapped out jeep for less than 1000 bucks...
