Need some help....

My next project is buying a limited slip from Eaton for my truck. It already has 4:11 gears I was just wondering If I should keep the 4:11's or while I am swapping stuff try to move down to like a 3:42 or 3:55 I dont drive over 60 much right now but would like too and in the future I do plan an overdrive swap, but that might be awhile. What do you guys think, I really would like to lower my rpms down a bit. Thanks.

Re: Need some help....

Make sure you check into the housing size as I believe there are 2 different ones and what you now have might not accept 3:42 gears. BUT if it will, that is about the best overall gear for general use with highway driving. I like 373's for overll with some towing but if I could pick and choose, I would definitely opt for 3:42 or 3:55's as 95% of my driving is just normal stuff and you will see a significant change in rpm and mpg at 70mph.
