Factory A/C bracket with Edelbrock intake?

Well, I have all of the brackets for my son's truck to hook up the A/C. However, the Performer intake that is on it does not have the top hole to mount the bracket to. Have any of you dealt with this, and if so, how did you get around it? This is a picture of someone else's motor but it has the same A/C setup that I have.

That bolt goes to a small bracket on mine that is attached to the front manifold bolt

Any way you can take a picture of the bracket?

The bracket bolts to the intake manifold's front head mounting bolt and is nothing more than a heavy duty "L" shaped bracket for the bolt from the A/C unit to go through. Just go to the salvage yard and there should be a hundred of them on the old motors.

Thanks pieces. Hey, do you have a website? The avatar pics you have look great. My son gets his license in 2 days and he has an 85 SWB that he is building.

Hey, that looks like one of my old engine pics!

If/when you get the bracket, would you send me a pic of it? Since I have a new crate 350 sitting on the floor in the garage, it sounds like I will need one as well.

Re: Factory A/C bracket with Edelbrock intake?

I don't have a website so you may want to direct any questions to me at my E-mail seeneyd2@mchsi.com. The motor pictures that are attached show the bracket mounted on top of the intake manifold at the front of the driver's side of the motor. On my motor it is powdercoated silver and is not real easy to see. The intake is an Edelbrock Performer RPM with the "Permastar" finish. This picture was taken last year about this time as I was getting it ready to put back into the black truck. Also attached are two of the trucks that I and my son have in our collection, since your son is working on his mid Eighties truck. The white truck is the daily work truck.

Re: Factory A/C bracket with Edelbrock intake?

Thanks for the pics. We have the motor out of the 85 now replacing all the gaskets before he takes delivery. He get's his license on the 15th of this month, tomorrow.... We also have an 83 SWB that we haven't decided what were going to do with it yet as well as my 71 LWB that I am going to be converting to a short bed after the first of the year. At least I know what I need to look for now at the yards.
