An NP 205 will have a three bolt cover, center rear. The NP 203 was used 71-79. NP 205, 71-91. Np 208, 81 up. NP 241, 88 up. Early GM's used Dana 20. All info from Advance Adapters. What tranny ? Go to www.advanceadapters.com

I would say that it is a NP205. The number on mine is C-99404 with a A1Q underneath.

Top-side ID
When I was building my '80 1 ton 4x4 daully , I found a "quick" way to ID 203s & 205s. The shift handle on a 205 is round all the way thru floor. A 203 is rectangular . I was looking mainly at 70s and early 80s stuff. Any exceptions anyone knows of?

Fender, as quoted, "all info from Advance Adapters." Those folks know more than I ever will.

ford and dodge may have used NP203, but GM did not start until 1973 and the dana20 was only available in K5 w/ 6cyl and manual tranny.

Interesting. The info from Adv. Adapters is listed just for GM/GMC trucks and Blazers.
What I should have said was that those people and many on this board know more than I ever will. Still learning.
