Pertronix HEI tune-up kit?

My truck is almost due for a tune-up, and i was thinking of hopping up the ignition system a little bit. Right now, i have a 350 motor, and a stock HEI distributor. I was looking at a Pertronix HEI tune-up kit in Jegs. http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...33&prmenbr=361
Would the kit give me any more power, or gas mileage, over my stock HEI? My engine makes about 300HP, but i never really go above 4500 rpm. Also, i was planning on using regular ACDelco spark plugs when i do the tuneup. Is there a better plug for me to use? I used to run Splitfire's in my EFI S10, but i have heard that Splitfires don't do very well in a carberated engine.

Petronix

I Have the complete Petronix HEI distributor and wires. No problems so far (2 Months) and dont have an opinion on any performance boost or benefits from installing it ,but my engine is a mostly stock 327.I just wanted an all new ignition system and the price was right. When I do some modifications in the future I wanted an ignition system that could keep up and from there ads It sounded like a good ignition system.
