I have a 1972 cust 350 truck that is all origional and inspected and drivable. My truck is a automatic 2wd truck without any mojor problems. I have the chance at getting a 4wd 1970 cst 350 truck for next to nothing. The truck has the factory traney and transfercase and entire driveline is complete minus the motor.... I want to know how much work is involved in putting my bed and cab on the 4wd frame ? I already had the bed off my truck so I know what is involved there. Since my truck is 100% drivable I'm thinking it is a lot of wrench turning. ? Please reply if you think you may be of the slightest help. I would love to do this, but am going back to school at the end of aug and do not have storage for the truck. Does anyone know about how long this would take if the 2 trucks were set side by side ? thanks a lot Cliff..

I know that the cab is only held on by 4 bolts. Then you remove the front clip too, which has 7 bolts i think. Overall, it would be pretty straight-forward. If the 4x4 has a manual tranny, you will have to sort out the linkages for the clutch pedal. Also, all 4x4's had the high hump (the hump in the middle of the floor), while almost all 2wd auto (or 3spd) trucks had a low hump. The low hump is about 4" tall, and the high hump is about 6" tall. You will proably need to put the high hump in your truck. That is about all i know. Good luck

Oh, my Ag teacher at school said his brother had a '72 LWB C10 that he dropped on a 4x4 frame. He said that his brother, and a couple friends, tore both trucks down to the frame, and switched bodies, in about 2 weeks. He said they worked pretty hard at it though.

Cliff, where you located in the Burgh? I lived up there for 20 years. My parents live about 20 minutes from there in Ohioville. (its just down 60 past beaver). My dad has 4 or 5 of these trucks, two have big blocks.
