Talking I have defeated the !@#* Oil Filter!!!

I am proud to say that (for those who have been following my saga) the wicked oil filter has relinquished its death grip on my engine. I served it the eviction notice and carried out the warrant just a few minutes ago.

I used that new tool that came FedEx just a little while ago and needless to say, thats a brilliant idea! I lined it up w/ two holes, put my 3/4 socket, extension and breaker bar on it and 1 twist did it. Even with all that ammo, It still was a bit difficult to get it started. He-Man apparently is the PO. Heres a couple of pictures of the oil filter, all tools used in one form or another throught the standoff, a defeated oil wrench (bent up) and the last pic is of the sweet taste of Victory!!!

I hope you don't have the same trouble with the bottle cap.

Glad you got it fixed.

The bottle may have had something to do with the trouble to start with.

Re: I have defeated the !@#* Oil Filter!!!

Man, reminds me of 2years ago on an old 68 truck with a 6cyl 250. It was a pain just like that. We destroyed the filter, it was still a pain but finally gave. That's the reason I hate going to "quickie lubes" they tend to overtighten them.

Re: I have defeated the !@#* Oil Filter!!!

Last time I had a stuck oil filter, I grabbed a big screwdriver, slammed it through both walls, then used the gained leverage to "encourage" it off, lol

Wow!That pesky lil`filter rousted about 75 posts!!(I`m #74)
That`s enough to make you wanna do a remote filter mount somewhere you can get at it easier.Sounds like He-Man forgot to put a little oil on the gasket back in 1980 when he put it on.

Man, last time I had a filter like that, I ended up using a chisel and hammer (would've been easier had I known about that nifty little tool ) )! Excellent choice of victory beer, BTW!
