well i took my 72 2wd blazer to the scrap yard today
gotcha! well after i got home from the scrap yard i was adding some antifreeze to it and the radiator blew a couple tubes in the middle while i was standing in front of it and blew hot antifreeze all over me. anyway i am going to add a 540ci bbc this winter to it. so i was wondering if anyone had a part number for a good 3 or 4 row alluminum radiator for it. and where to get it.

i found a griffin at summit made for a 67-72 part number gri6567arbax for 469.00 does anyone know of any others?

Most of the aluminum after market radiators I have seen come with the NASCAR 4 fins per inch meaning they leave a BIG air gap between fins so when your going 220 MPH the air dont blow the core out, myself I use the high efficiency brass core radiators that have about 15 fins per inch and transfer MORE heat at 0 to 70 MPH than the fancy smancy "aluminum racing radiators" do, a good friend of mine spent about 1000 BUX trying to cool his blown BB 57 Chevy but once he went to the 4 core brass radiator all his cooling problems went away, think he got 200 bux for his $750.00 aluminum radiator, the aluminum radiator would have probably been ok for a normally aspirated SB engine.

I would run a "nice" copper/brass radiator if I could find a supplier that handled a "USA made" radiator. I think I'm going to run an aluminum Griffin or BeCool brand in my '71 project truck. I was pretty disappointed in the 4-core I put in my blazer. It was "suppose" to be a Modine from www.radiators.com,... BUT came in as a import look a like. Poor fit and finish. I installed it because I was in a jam. But that won't happen again.

my bud runs nothing but GRIFFINS in his BB novas (500cid+) never had a problem cruising town etc. (slow speeds)

check out www.usradiator.com, you might be surprised what you can find.
Aluminum rads are excellent for racers, but you may only get a couple of years out of them in a driver (due to the expansion/contraction and stress between the fins and the tanks).

he he he i figured someone would jump on that. as for brass to aluminum i think ther is a major difference as i had a 3row brass radiator in my v8 s10 and it always ran hot so i went to a 2 row alluminum and it never got over 190 ever so im deffinately going alluminum i just dont know which one yet.
