Who likes progress? Putter Update Pics.

Well, it is a slow and steady pace I guess.

GMan came over and assisted me with hanging a door on the new cab yesterday. Still needs some fine adjustment, but we are getting closer. (Stupid S-10 weatherstrip is giving me fits...have to slam the door).
GMan also snuck up behind me with the camera, but at least I smiled!!!!

Anyway, if anyone needs parts from the original '69 cab in the background, just holler at me.

Also, notice my "Home Depot" trash guard. That thing cost me almost $3 bucks!!!

And don't laugh at the 'finish'....it's just sealer!!!!

Nice!!! I like that guard, and look it's already working, all the leaves are in the bed of the truck and not under the cowl.

Looking great - you will like those door seals after they break in a bit. I still have to slam the doors but they sure seal up excellent and install is a breeze.

Those are 1998 Suburban second row seats.
I got them for a reason. I wanted an armrest, but didn't want to expose the tank when it was down. The arm rest on these pulls out of the back. I have moved the tank to the rear, so that is no longer an issue.
I think I am going to ditch these if I can find a front seat that is 40/20/40 (instead of 60/40) from a Chevy.

**Didja' notice my adjustable-shoulder-height belts???**

Re: Who likes progress? Putter Update Pics.

Yeah, noticed the adjustable shoulder belts, and would like to know more about them. I want to install shoulder belts in my 69 GMC. I have factory buckets.
Would also like to hear more about the S-10 door seals. Good idea or not?

Great progress. Is that mess stainless or aluminum?

I'm off next week, we ought to get together if you got some time. I'd like to see the truck up close.

I like that vent screen also-- Is it stainless? How does it mount? Orange is nice. Are those clearance lights on the donor 69?

Re: Who likes progress? Putter Update Pics.

Got plenty of time Joker. Come on up. I am off all day Monday, and can take off any other day if needed. You can also meet GMan and possibly Subtle71.
The mesh is not aluminum. That much I know. But it is made to be in the weather 24/7, so it must be treated somehow. Oh well...at less than $3, I can replace it at will. Or I may just powder-coat it!!!

Those adjusters for the seatbelts came from a late model Fullsize Chevy W/T (worktruck). No fancy trim on the interior, so they just bolted the adjusters to the wall and covered them up with the small trim.

Not sure about the screen being stainless. I will have to wait and see if it tried to rust. It comes in 3-ft sections that are about 6" or 8" wide. I trimmed it to fit, rolled the edges so leaves can't sneak under, and used a few dabs of sealant to hold it until I mount the cown cover back on the truck. Then the factory screws will do most of the work.
The lights are clearance "cab-lights". Not factory, so there are no humps on the roof. I will give them away for the shipping cost. All of them work prefectly and look pretty darn good up close. Mount with two screws (one front, one rear) and one small hole for a single wire.

That is just a temporary color. It will end up that burnt orange color found on Honda Element, Mazda 6, F-350.....
