Heres my driveway cure for cancer(surface rust)! Grind it off! Got both sides done and filled all small holes with Bondo, and all primered up. Next is the hood and the roof. Still looking for a good replacement bed though.

don't grind the rockers, i'm afraid you'll be left with nothing. if it's staying outside, use the brown rustoleum rust preventative primer. it dries to about that color, and doesnt wash off which is good for a driveway truck.

I used Rustoleum superior finish black primer. The rockers are already gone for the most part but they are soon to be replaced! Gotta love body work!

not many attempt to repair rust in the driveway, we're both unique! gotta love it more in texas summer heat, shoot it was 85 degrees the last 3 days.

Is that rust on bare metal or is that a brown paint????

Thats Brown paint. The bare metal is where I sanded all the surface rust off.

I hear ya Matt, But here in South Dakota you have to be careful, the day I did all that work it was 65 and the next day we got 6 inches of snow. So its a little hit or miss with the driveway work.

Leave those holes in the rockers.They let all the water out,lol.
I don`t know if this came up on your other thread about your truck being a Custom/10 with 6-lug axles,but I can now see tou have a later 3/4t front axle under it.

They work great with the holes in the floor too! Nice cross breeze! The PO put the 3/4 axles from a donor 77.

Nice progress! That front engine displacement emblem and marker light come off pretty easy just in case you want to check under them for corrosion also (I notice you masked them). I think you have to take off the fender to get the custom 10 ones off though.
