Has anyone ever had any luck rebuilding the mechanical arms for the windshield wipers? I need to do the ones for the Blazer and then want to do the truck. How do you get the splined portion off the wiper arm mount? Thanks, Jeff.

Well, found some things out today I didn't know before. Here is what they looked like before starting the rip out:

Used a die grinder to take off the staked portion of the shaft, trying not to mess up the splines:

Then used a pulley puller to remove the splines.

Be careful with the puller tho, it will mess up the outer splines if you are not careful:

Once the outer spline part it off, it looks like this:

Here are all the parts together: The wavy washer went on the bottom under the outer portion.

Looks like the shaft is carried inside a brass bushing under the splines. Guess after its all cleaned up all I will have to do is just grease it well and reassemble. I'll post some more pics once the grit blasting and cleaning are complete. Anyone know where to get new splines? Thanks, Jeff.
