Has anyone installed twin piston calipers or braided brake lines on 67-72?
I am going to install my 2" drop spindles this spring, along with a whole new front end, ball joints, tie rod ends, idler, pitman, calipers, rotors, flex lines, etc. I am wanting to know if any or you have upgraded to a 2 or 4 piston calipers, drilled and slotted rotors, and stainless braided flex lines? What companies make such parts for our 67-72 GMC trucks? Thanks!!

Re: Has anyone installed twin piston calipers or braided brake lines on 67-72?
Sorry I can't offer any help, but I have the same question as you do. I am wanting to go with new drop spindles and switch to 5 lug. The problem is I don't know what brakes will work with say a drop spindle from early classic. I would like to run a set of Baer or Brimbo. If any one could through out some suggetion, I would be greatful. Thanks

I think I will also check out Master Power brakes and Stainless steel brakes as well.

http://www.baer.com/ I have Baer on my 77. The kit came with s/s lines and 2" dropped spindles. If you already have your dropped spindles you can send them to Baer and they will machine them to work with their brake system.

Try these guys http://www.performanceplumbing.com/BrakeFittings.html[/URL]. They sell all the fittings and line to make all your own flex lines and length you want. Good prices too. I used them to plumb all my brakes. Stainless with A.N fittings all around!

Does anyone know if there is a bit cheaper altenative, I want twin piston calipers, but don't want to spend quite that much. Can you make a single piston work as well? Thanks

7T7........thats about as pretty a piece of hardware as I've ever seen. I think I'd probably mount that on the wall of my office.

I've got the Baer set-up on my truck. They come with McGaughy's drop spindles i beleive. If I would have known you could send them a set to machine, I would have sent some 3" dropped spondles, but you live and ya learn. By the way I'm running Baer's full kit, 1/4 front lines, 5/16 rear lines, no proportioning valve, with an 88-98 chevy booster and master cylinder. Its a bit touchy, but that mofo will stop before the dime.
