checking interest- parting 89 Suburban

I am getting ready to part out an 89 Suburban, so I thought I would check interest. I have a decent idea on the big stuff, but I thought I would check to see if there is anything anyone needs before it hits ebay. Truck is red w/ red interior. I bought it with a rod knock, and was starting to swap out the engine. I found a nicer truck with a new engine and a perfect grey interior, so this one is coming apart.

-loaded radiator support, with all lamps, bezels, wiring harness, etc- sold

-steering column- felt tight, with keys- $100

-steering wheel- 4 spoke, with chevrolet horn button $30

-700R4 transmission- seemed to pull OK, but I didn't drive it too far because of the rod knock $200, pick up only

-Black grille guard, with 2 round off road KC type lights. Should fit 81 up trucks $50

-right fender, pretty clean $60

-front doors, power windows and locks $150 each

-rear doors, power windows and locks $75 each

-15" aluminum "sawtooth" type rims, with BFG all terrain tires, about 40-50% tread $200/set

-misc. red interior parts- make offer with needs. It is all there, and it is very red. The dash is cracked, but has a rug on it. great for a beater.

-reciever hitch with hardware $50

truck is located in Leander, TX (just north of Austin). I can bring parts up to Arlington (D/FW) if that makes pickup easier. Prices are best offer, plus shipping (actual charges). I will try to get pictures up this weekend.

I forgot, I have a complete serpentine belt setup also. It has a good compressor, all of the bolts, hardware, pulleys, etc. A/C blew cold. $150 for all.

What does the gauge bezel look like? Looking for a 81-87 A/C bezel with the bright trim around the gauges. Thanks.

Dave, this one has the woodgrain and the large radio cutout. I do have a near mint (except the radio hole has been cut out) bezel for 81-83 if that's the one you need. 84 and newer have no hole for the wiper switch, this one does. The chrome and teh inlay is perfect other than the radio hole, though.

Re: checking interest- parting 89 Suburban

I need one for an 86. I might be interested in your 89 if you have the matching trim panels for the dash and doors. How big is the factory radio on an 89, I was going to cut my dash for a CD player, so this might work.

'89 Burb factory radio is a din and a half.
I did the Burb woodgrain treatment/Alpine CD player in my '84 C10 this summer.

Re: checking interest- parting 89 Suburban

I don't know if it will work. The cutout is the DIN and a half size, like the radios in most 80's and 90's GM cars. I have all of the trim panels, but the door trim inserts are a lot larger on the later model subs. ANd the trim inserts I have are red. I will try to get pics posted this week, though.

Re: checking interest- parting 89 Suburban

Do you have any pictures of the front end? We are looking for a Suburban front end to go on an '83 squarebody we are working on. I would also be interested in the rear bumper and brackets if they are still there.

Not sure if my reply to your PM went through or not. For some reason when I submit the PM the screen just goes blank and stops. Guess it worked the first try, but not sure the reply went. Let me know.

I bought the truck with a terrible knock. It pulled fine going into the shop, and the fluid didn't look too bad. I didn't drive it due to the knock, but it went into gear just fine. I would swap out the filter since it would be easier to do while it's out, but it should be fine.

Do you have a pic of the steering wheel? I'm looking for a different one than I have now.
