buildin an 350

me and my buddy are building an 350 using an federal mogul kit this is what it inculdes

plan on buying an new rodchester for an temp carb till i can get an better one looking at an edelbrock preformer carb 600 cfm with electric choke motor is going to be painted brigte chevy orange so far my total cost is looking at 1,424.73 if i have to bore the block i am looking at boring it .20 over what do you think the hp on this would be?

You will have 353 cubic inches, with a stock crank.

what i looking at is the block is out of an 1986 k10 4x4 so the alterantor is going to be reloacted to the passager side i don't think this will be very hard what is involded in it?

If I understand the first post, you're at 1400 plus dollars for this buildup. You'd be easier and cheaper to buy a new 4 bolt main 350 crate engine for 1300 dollars with a warranty.

BTW, the compression specs listed are for 64cc heads, the 86 model core you have will have 76 cc heads, so bank on a lower compression ratio.

You can't bore the engine till you get your pistons in hand. First, your machinist will evaluate your block to determine what oversize you'll need to bore too. Then, you have to get the pistons for that oversize. Your machinist will want to mic the new pistons so he gets the bore dimensions in proper tolerances. Never trust a machinist that will just bore one to 4.020 or whatever you ask for without already having the new pistons in hand.

thanks tx i plan on having the cyilders micd frist to let me know if i need to bore if i need to bored i was plaing on letting them tell me how much i need the get the kit to fitbefore i actlyy let them bore itlike you said i been looking at an new 350 crate but i want to build this thing its not going to be an stock motor just alittle more then stock
