Dual port (Offenhauser) 307 ?
Has anyone used a dual port on the 307? Does it save fuel and improve low end? Was thinking about putting it on with a 1406, Headers and a 262 isky supercam. Any thoughts.

Dual port?(Offenhauser)
Is the ofeenhauser dual port a good intake for a 307? Has anyone used one? Thanks.

Re: Dual port?(Offenhauser)
Never heard of it 'till now looks like a high priced piece for a small motor and summit has a ship date sometime in March. At first I thought you meant the Cross Ram Dual Quad setup used on the 69 Z28. Definitely overkill. If someone gives it to you, go for it! But I'd be happy with a Edelbrock Performer RPM or Air Gap.

Re: Dual port?(Offenhauser)
I agree with Sweet72. Personally, I just ordered some Edelbrock Performers, intake manifold and carburetor.... which will accompany my new Edelbrock Signature series valve covers and my new Edelbrock Pro-Flo air cleaner. Talk about going to town on Edelbrock stuff. But back to the subject here. They sound like pretty alright intakes, it all depends on what you want to spend now. Just remember some more money here, might save you more money down the road. At least it depends on the weight of your right foot. My right foot is pretty dang heavy, even with my S-10's meager 4.3L, I still push probably only 10-15mpg (and that isn't to talk about how much it costs to pay speeding tickets ) but at least it scoots around fast enough. Like said, it's up to you and how you drive. It seems like a good intake manifold for your grocery runs, or your quarter mile runs.

Re: Dual port?(Offenhauser)
Now on your normal dual plane manifold...the left 2 barrels of the carb feed the #1 #7 #4 #6 cyl's And the right side feed the #3 #5 #2 #8 cyl's On the dual port the left 2 barrels feed all 8 cyl's and the same for the right...This = better fuel flow...And the one on my 70 LS6 454 has added i would say 75hp to the 425 it has stock... A very good manifold...

Re: Dual port?(Offenhauser)
Used one on a SBF and lost LOTS of power. That divider takes up a pretty large cross-section of the port. I wouldn't bend down to pick one up if it was free. Just MO.

Re: Dual port?(Offenhauser)
I already have one just never used it, I have an edelbrock perfromer too. I was just checking. I know they are on alot of big blocks around here but wasnt sure how they did on the small ones. I know new ones are high dollar (about double the performer) thats why you dont here much about them I guess. Thanks

Re: Dual port?(Offenhauser)
I was going to go against the grain and use it anyway. I was just wondering what others knew. It seams odd to me that there is just about nothing but the same advertisment Ive been reading for years on the net. I could not find one dyno test, article nothing. The only way I will know for sure is to give it a shot. If it doesnt work out I'll let you know. Witch truck are you putting yours on?

The reduction in intake cross-section alone makes the dual port an economy intake rather than a horsepower intake. The Offy 360 degree intakes are absolutley great and the Port-O-Sonic and Super-Sonic are my intakes of choice on Drag motors. Been there, done that. Google "Offenhauser Dual Port" and start reading. They make good door stops and perform OK on dead stock motors which is what the were designed for. Also the work best with a spread port carb.
