Need advise on parts...
Here's the skinny... I'm new to old trucks. I had an LMC catalog in Baghdad but I handed it off to one of our FNG's. Soooo...I reordered a catalog from LMC and one from Chevy Duty cause they were free. They are yet to arrive. The following is a list of parts I would like to get my hands on pretty soon to start on my new truck.
Power door lock switches (does Chevy still carry these? or where can I find some) White face gauges D/S window motor (completely gone, AutoZone maybe?) Armrest, I got a donor. I read somewhere about painting interior pieces but was unsure if it would work on an armrest. Carpet kit to include the bottom pieces for the doors.(I need to start here I guess in case the color is off I can adjust fire and repaint other pieces to match.) Thanks guys any and all help is appreciated. I'm looking forward to getting started and will try to post some pics soon. Be patient this will be my first attempt EVER to post pics. Almost forgot, 85 Chevy C10 shotbox Last edited by Army_Dude; 01-05-2006 at 12:58 AM. |

Re: Need advise on parts...
Don't forget that Chris Lucas, our very own Captkaos, sells parts.
http://www.73-87chevytrucks.com/ Regarding white faced gauges, there have been a lot of people on the truck boards reporting that durangedesigns sells a poor quality product. He also periodically registers, claims to be a durangedesigns customer, and spams the truck boards talking about what a wonderful product the company sells. On the window motor, there is a good tutorial on changing it out on another member's site, www.73-87.com. Good luck, Slonaker |

Re: Need advise on parts...
Army Dude, definately check out some of the people here first..
CaptKaos is a good guy.. as far as the white faced guages, definately stay away from duranged designs.. never dealt with him, but i have seen his poor tactics on other boards.. and besides we have our own here.. Chevychic made some in the past.. she is busy so you will have to email her.. perhaps she still produces them.. http://webpages.charter.net/chvchk/ click truck, then custom gauges..

You can try the dealership, if not Try Autozone's Help section White face gauges I would personally contact Heather at the addy Prerunner1982 suggested D/S window motor (completely gone, AutoZone maybe?) Check with an AC/Delco dealer, might check dealership also Armrest, I got a donor. I read somewhere about painting interior pieces but was unsure if it would work on an armrest. Yes, you can dye it also Carpet kit to include the bottom pieces for the doors.(I need to start here I guess in case the color is off I can adjust fire and repaint other pieces to match.) I can send you a couple of images from my sample that you can choose from. The cost of a reg cab pickup is $126.95 + $20 shipping. Are you wanting the same carpet for the doors? I can get it loose and you can make them yourself from the same carpet for a little more.
