Re: NEED to know what you think!
If the question is should you buy it...well that would be a stupid question. What is your question?

Re: NEED to know what you think!
Im still learning the ins and outs of these trucks but if you can verify this is the real deal im guessing you couldnt find a cooler score. You could easily get your money back out of it if its in premo shape. The only down side is the 307 if you want to call it a downside. I would definately make sure it runs holds oil pressure, dosent have any problems. And for mid teens it shouldnt.Ask how it was taken care of for the last 35 years and if it was just parked and sat, you may have a case to bring him down a few thousand beings that the motor may have issues with seals, gaskets and possibly rings and bearings? Honestly the tires are probably dry rotted so i wouldnt be driving it home. While all these original things are nice on paper, if your going to drive it, there are definately some safty/mechenical reliability issues that go with it.

Re: NEED to know what you think!
This truck MAY be a true "uncle Daniel" truck......per Rod & Custom of the late '60's. Then, it may be a hoax. Without pictures, and by that I mean a lot of them, it's hard for anyone to offer any advice.
With odometers that only go to 99,999.9 miles, we all know that there have been a number of instances where a prospective buyer, or seller for that matter, believed the actual mileage shown, to be true mileage. I have only got 11K plus miles showing on my '69. There would have to be plenty of documentation that accompanied such a vehicle, to substantiate the claims of the seller. If, on the other hand, you were a member/friend of the family and knew the history of the truck, you would be more comfortable. It sounds like an enticing vehicle, IF it is what you want and will be satisfied just to maintain it. With only 5800 miles, it could be that it was only used to plow snow in a small town....kinda like the Mustang/Camaro etc., that was only driven on weekends....a quarter mile at a time. Remember, for potential buyers the rule is "Caveat Emptor".....let the buyer beware.
