68 Manual/Power steering Pitman Arms??

Are 68 Power steering and Manual steering pitman arms the same part number? Autozone shows they are, advanced auto shows they aren't. Just curious as I need one badly, and Advanced has one labeled power steering for 40 bucks less than auto zone.

Thanks for anything!

If you have the original 68 type of power steering that uses the assist ram on the steering linkage, rather than a power box like later trucks used, I'd bet they are the same.

I know for sure, that 69 and newer use a different pitman arm for power versus manual steering.

Re: 68 Manual/Power steering Pitman Arms??

Now that you mention the ram style p/s, I bet that's why auto zone lists the same p/n for either pitman arm. I didn't even think about that. I guess I'll just dig through the parts in the garage and find the p/s box and pitman arm.

Thanks for your reply, and btw, I love the "Beater"!

Re: 68 Manual/Power steering Pitman Arms??

I was out at the shop last night, looked at my manual 68 steering box and a ram set up on my 65
burb. The pitman arms have the same length and splines, the general shape is the same but they are not exactly the same. All the important demensions
are identical
