383 Stroker going in my Burb. What color was the factory 327 in 68? GMC/Chevy diff?
I am putting a factory fresh 383 stroker (approx. 300hp) in my 68 GMC suburban 4x4. Has 411 posi. 4speed. Granny low. Gonna be a stock as a rock sleeper . I was curious if GMC had the blue paint on 327 or if factory orange was used that year on the GMC. Anyone know? Here are some before shots~! Check out the FACTORY 1968 GMC not Chevy Grill Guard. It is the only GMC guard I have even seen. Anyone else have one?

I'd paint it orange. Pretty much all chevy small blocks were painted that color.
Since it's a 327, it's a safe bet. SLIMJIM

In '68, I believe they were still orange. The "corporate blue" didn't come into use until the mid-70's. To me, it just ain't right, if it ain't orange!!

Orange! I see that is where 6t8's burb went off to. He was selling this one while I was trying to sell my 2wd orange 72 about a year ago, glad to see it went to a good home.
