Good Articles in Custom Classic Trucks

I just picked up the latest Custom Classic Trucks magazine - the issue has a blue '72 on the cover. There were a number of great articles in the magazine. One that interested me and actually interested my safety conscious wife was the one about installing new lap and shoulder belts in our trucks. Good article and the supplier seems to have a good product for a good price. Also liked the articles about cab sound proofing and window trim installation. FYI...

'05 Sierra 4x4 - Had 270,000 KM and running well when it was written-off by a stop sign runner.
'94 F-150 from the "F word" company. I'll admit it...good truck. Sold what was left of it for $800 to a guy who came to pick it up at 11:00 PM with cash in hand. Hmm.
'79 Sierra Grande (Black) organ donor - perfect rebuildable 4-bolt 350 and a good TH350.
'76 Sierra Grande (Orange) - hate isn't too strong a word. Kid who bought it turned it into a hot rod.
'68 C-10 R.I.P. - Dad's old truck...too far gone to resurrect.
'59 C-50 - with hoist. Truck is gone, wife isn't. Nuff said.

Re: Good Articles in Custom Classic Trucks

Yeah, pretty basic install. I used the s-10 seat belts with no problems (other than making an extension out of stainless).

Re: Good Articles in Custom Classic Trucks

bluec10 : if the article had shoulder belts that bolted to the original seatbelt holes with the tank in the truck ,you might want to post the Vendor info.
There are several members who have asked about shoulder belts that are a direct bolt in .

Re: Good Articles in Custom Classic Trucks

I was bummed when I paged through mine. Seems someone in Honolulu already finished their longbed 68 and got a nice spread too. Hopefully I'll get mine to mag standards.

I thought about you when I saw that article. I spent 4 years on Oahu and I don't remember seeing any of our trucks.

The belts came from ECE, but were sold by The Truck Shop, I believe.

Re: Good Articles in Custom Classic Trucks

I've seen that truck at a couple of the car shows here in MO, and that blue 72, is absolutely amazing. You can tell that he didn't skip one thing during his rebuild. Everything was spotless. Here's a pic of the truck from a show in Riverside, MO

First thing, you might get confused, the owner of the truck is the guy standing by it in the pic above. The guy cleaning the truck below is not the owner......(I know, I started talking to the wrong guy....)

It bugs me when you spend the $$ for a sub to a mag & you can get it from the stand before it shows in the mail. How long has that one been out?

The seatbelt article featured products from a company called The Truck Shop Specialty Conversions out of Fullerton, California. Their web address is http://www.buckle-up.net.
