Unhappy OUCH! Tranny & Trans Case rebuild

This old truck is starting to cost some bucks. I just finished putting new tires on, new steering gearbox, tie rod end, and drag link, which cost me $1250. My transmission shop is now rebuilding the 3-spd tranny and 4x4 transfer case for $1100. The price doesn't sound out of line for the work, but I was hoping for less problems. I guess she is worth it.

How much will a crate motor (long block) swap cost me?

Re: OUCH! Tranny & Trans Case rebuild

I just paid $1359 plus $100 shipping for my crate 350 from Summit. That was the best price I could find. They beat the price my friend was able to get on the same part, and he works at a a GM dealer.
