np203 ??

hi all,,in the middle of changing my th350 tranny that gave out on me,,just got it all put together and it went out so now have it all laying on floor,,first question is does the np203 take 10w30 or 10w40??? not familar with t-case's so wanna drain it and replace while out,,,also 2nd ?,,when i put it all together first time where the speedo cable screwed onto the t-case the threads that the speedo cable screw onto kept spinning so you could not tighten up the cable,,,i took the part off of t-case (big nut) looked all inside of it couldnt figure out why it was doing this..when i drove it first time (before tranny went out) the speedo was not working so would like to fix while it's all out on ground...hope this make's some kinda sense to someone,,,lol....thank's for any help...

did your cable break? {the square thing inside the plastic housing} mine looked ok but when i pulled on it about 6 inches of the square springer inner cable thing came out.

I disagree, why would it be to thin for the chain. the 208 has the same type of chain and they use ATF and last just fine. Remember, thin oil can get into places faster than thick stuff, especially when it's cold. Wouldn't hurt a thing to use dextron it it, but if you feel more comfy with thicker oil then use any grade of engine oil but I wouldn't even consider 80-90 I don't care what the experts say, it's responsible for many a worn out chain, especially in cold climates like where I'm from. And remember they have an oil pump in them and 80-90 is to thick for that. These were originally made to be full time so they had a lot of parts moving to warm the oil up and splash it around. But most of them now are converted to part time and have to rely on the oil pump to lube the main shaft bearings, if I were you I would use a thinner oil just because of that and also put a 90 degree elbow in where the fill plug is and fill it up to that level. That's what the part time kits I've installed recommend.
