Hows the quility on the 67-72 L.E.D. tail lights?

Well, you get what you pay for, is the old saying.

MY experience is that the APC branded LED bulbs, are not worth the packaging they're in. They are not bright enough to be usable, in my opinion.

I have been using a pair of 1157 replacements that I got from www.ledtronics.com. They weren't cheap, but they have a total of 24 LED's on each bulb, and are really bright.

Another alternative is what is sold through Early Classic Enterprises. At one time, a board member was making LED taillight assy's that illuminated the entire tail light lens. ECE is now selling them, for not much more than I paid for the two bulbs I got from ledtronics.

There may be some vendors on the board that have them, too.

I think it's pretty darned good for the stepside ones I got. Here's some comparison pics. The brighter light on the left is the LED lens I got from PICKMUP, the one on the right is the stock lens and bulb. The top pic is with the brakes applied. The other two are just the taillights. The pics actually don't do the lights justice. They are incredibly bright. My light buckets are also painted black on the inside. I will be painting them white on the inside and will probably blind people behind me

I would imagine the fleetside ones to be just as good.

Yeah, it's REALLY creepy. She must have really good night vision. My other dog's eyes don't hardly reflect at all and her "reflective color" is a light brown. Nabisco follows me everywhere, so she's in a lot of pics.

Yes, he is a board member. You can PM him about them. I think ECE may sell them also. I believe I paid a "special into price" of $75 for the pair when he advertised them on the parts board many months ago. I believe the actaul price is a good bit more. I like them and thought they were worth the money. You could hardly see my brake lights during the daytime. It's now much better

ECE has issues with their lights. I asked about them when I ordered my drop and they said it was hit or miss, sometimes they work in a truck sometimes they don't. I think PICKMUP was trying to work out the issues with the lights and was making a list of people who wanted them once the problems were fixed.

I guess I was lucky? I put both sides on and tested tail, turn, and stop and combo's of all three, all worked. I guess my truck is special?

I really want a pair but i thought i remembered allot of people having problems with the fleetside L.E.D. taillights. I thought they would have fixed the problems by now.

Here's a few answers:
The stepside LEDs work great. There never were any problems. You do have to tap a small indent inside the stock housing for clearance. They were made to fit the repro housings that have more room. The stepsides sell for $75 pr + $10 shipping.

The fleetside LEDs are a "MESS". They are made by a different company. They have always been very delicate, but with care worked OK. They tried to improve them and screwed them up. There was a big manufacture run that got shipped without testing in a 1157 vehicle. They bench test OK, but both circuits will not work when you install them. It has been about 6-8 months of promises, but no results! The fleetsides sold for $140 + sh from ECE...a little less here.

Based on what Pickmup said, I feel good about my 1157 replacement bulbs from www.ledtronics.com. Like I said before, they're expensive but they work. Sorry I don't have a picture of them, but I guess it's my laziness showing.

Chevloray do you like your bulbs? 1157 is good for turn signals and brake lights correct? and 1156 is good for backup lights? Did you have to modify your flasher at all? Or use any inline load resistors? Did you only do the brake lights?

I don't know if they will ever get them done right again. I have a large list of guys that want them.
I would just like to get my money back from Early Classics. They have promised a full refund, but it has been several months on that too. I think they are an OK company, but there has sure been a lot of time, effort & money wasted on these!

I bought a set of your Fleet truck lights and they have worked perfect now for over 3 years, maybe even longer I don't remember when I got them for Christmas one year. Early classic had just started selling them. I left the picture on the counter so my wife would see it. It worked and they have work ever since.

Do these require a electronic flasher?

They tested/worked fine in my truck with the stock flasher. The front bulbs draw enough juice to make the flasher still function...in most cases.
The electronic flasher is about $10 and available at all auto parts stores, if you should need it.
The electronic flasher usually gives a much longer and easier to see flash, with or without LEDs.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
