Tow hook question

Were the factory tows hooks that were installed on 73 chevy trucks the same hooks that were used in 72 or are they a little different? If they are the same what year did they change them? I had a guy tell me he saw a set of hooks on a 73 4x4 that looked like the 72's and they were supposed to be factory. Anybody know for sure?

Re: Tow hook question

The simple answer is they are diffrent. But someone on this forum said he got a set of '72 off of a '73. Chevrolet never made anything simple so you'll never know what you will find.

Re: Tow hook question

^ What he said, GM never did many things that made sense, I would
want to see them if I were you, they might be legit, who knows, one
thing that is certain, if they are 72 only they are worth some jack

That is a borrowed pic, I have had 5 sets, I currently only own
one pair of the holy grail 72 only extreme bend type, no others.

That's still one more set than I own and are probably still worth 4-500 jr bacon cheeses!

I lterally would be afraid to put them on, which goes against my theory of drive it like you stole it, but if they got jacked or bent in an accident I'd bet you would be hard pressed to find another set that nice. Almost warrants an addition insurance policy!!

Well actually they will only be on there for shows, my luck is they would
be stolen if I just left them on there all the time, I have 3 sets of ways
to mount them, the OE bolts which went through the same process as
the hooks, a SS set for shows, and I ordered through work a set of SS
quick release short shank pins, they have Black T-handles on them
