Ok, I saw the thread about the lost key fob posted a few days ago, but here is a related question. I have electric locks on my 2005 Silverado, but no key fobs. The dealer says there isn't a receiver for them on my truck, so therefore I don't have the keyless entry option. Can this option be added?? Has anyone ever done this before?? The dealer says they can do it, but I'd rather do it myself and save some cash. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Alan, I have the factory keyless entry on my 97 GMC Suburban and it's great but it only works about 30 ft. away. I have an aftermarket remote start/keyless entry installed on my 2000 Ram and it will work the length of a football field. The Ram came with factory keyless entry but I don't carry the Dodge key fob on my keyring. I think it was about $230 installed three years ago. My brother in law has an 03 Suburban with factory keyless entry and it will work a lot further than mine on the Suburban.
