Power Windows
Has anyone installed a power window kit in their blazer? In the process of redoing the interior with new door panels (on the new doors). Before I cut these panels for the window regulator, I'm thinking that I might want to add power windows.
I do like the simplicity of manual windows, but power would be nice at times also. Anyone have good or bad experiences? Brothers has a kit that is suppose to be a direct bolt in. Any feedback on this kit? Goose |

Re: Power Windows
I don't know what Brother's is offering, but I installed the A1 Electric-life kit in mine and am very pleased. You can buy from them direct. I rigged mine up with Auto-loc crank switches so the door panel / handles look completely stock. You wouldn't know until you go to crank down the window and then... whoops, power.
Here is a link with the detailed installation. The A-1 regulator kit is very good. You definately don't need the crank switches. Adding the crank switches complicated the install and upped the costs quite a bit... but I wanted totally stock appearing. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=153317

Re: Power Windows
71, thats a really great idea. You should show us all how you did it and have Krue add it to the FAQ. I did the same power windows on the 71 and they are great. I used their switches tho. How do you like them in the Blazer? Have you noticed any problems with support? Thanks, Jeff.
Belay my last! There's already a nice write up in the link you provided! Thanks, Jeff.

Not currently but I did wire the driver and passenger side motors for a switch set in the center console during the installation. I dragged the wires through the door looms but currently the wires are stubbed out under the dash. Plans are to wire up the center console window switches when I install a console based stereo system this summer. I'm thinking of setting them in the spot where the ash tray is. I plan to install three rockers... left and right windows and a center switch for the power door locks. If I can find the right switches and have enough room, I hope to hide them in the ash tray so you flip up the lid to use them. It'll probably be too tight though. There is another way to operate the passenger side with the driver side crank switch. You can wire in a series of relays and a push button or micro switch. This way, when you push the switch the driver crank works the passenger side window. I opted to just wire it for a second set of switches in the console.

They were a little tricky to install but it can be done. Check out the thread I posted above for the details.
