How can I tell right from left A-arm? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I recently discoved that one of the a-arms I removed from my truck was tweaked. What I can't figure out is if it's that passenger side or drivers side. Also, which of those is right from left (seems to me it depends on where you look at it from). Can anyone help?

Are you talking about upper or lower? On the lower the shock mounts will be on the back of the a-arm or behind the wheel. For the uppers there is a hole in the top for the upper rubber stop or bumper. This hole is also towads the back. Hope this helps

Thanks JC, it looks like it is the one on the passenger side. I'm still not sure if that makes it right or left. Oh well, knowing what I know now should be enough to get another. Thanks again.

For a while I had three 71 or 72 a-bodies at the same time. EVERY time I took a set of a-arms off to rebuild and paint I had to go look at one of the other cars to remember which side is which.

I just did it again this past summer on the 71 convertible.
