90 3/4 Ton 4X ??
I am picking up a 90 3/4 ton 4X4 Burb this weekend and it does not have locking hubs! Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

It's a mixed blessing. On one hand you shift in to 4 hi or 4lo and after a few feet the hubs lock, and your on your way. Down side to unlock you have to switch into 2 hi and drive in reverse for about 20 ft to unlock. I had them(auto hubs) on an 85 blazer and swapped them for a set made by warn(manual), took maybe half an hour. The manual hub, I guess give you a more positive feeling that they are engaged, since you have to turn them to lock them. I guess it will depend on what you do with the burb.

How much were the locking hubs and was there any other changes that have to be made?

I believe warn and milemarker and superwinch have different styles available. With the cheaper ones having plastic knobs to the more expensive ones having stainless knobs. Prices range between $40 to $80. Summit sells them. No other changes to make, you'll end up discarding a couple existing parts and the kits have everything you need, don't even have to take the tire off.

I think the burbs were solid axle to 1991 like the K5s.
