Re: Take a look at this trucks dash .

i got to tell ya, thats a nice truck and all....but if i were "seriously" trying to get 19 grand out of a truck, i'd definitely not park it in front of a junk yard and take pictures of it to put on ebay

dash looks good...but it looks like someone that did this must sit in the middle of the seat

Re: Take a look at this trucks dash .

Very clean, but I'd rather have all of the gauges right in front of the driver. This is probably a trailer queen. Where is the radio?

I see the radio remote (?) on the floor I think . I like the truck but it needs 18's or 20's on the front . The dash looks a little like a smoothed 72 dash . I am sure its all custom but it resembles a 72 to me . Clean under the hood also . I also like the GMC grille with the Bowtie . Take that truck , paint it silver , red , black , white , blue , or even yellow , and I would like it much better . The green probably looks better in person . It is a Texas truck which is cool .

Yuck. To each his own.

I can appreciate the work that went into that dash, but I think stock looks better. It has no style.

Re: Take a look at this trucks dash .

I don't mean any disrespect because it does look nice, but It's not that complex. It looks like the top part of the dash used a piece of 1.5 " tubing for the front edge with a sheetmetal skin. The face of the dash is sheetmetal with a rolled edge at the bottom. It does look like a panel punch was used to recess the holes for the guages.

It is a nice truck for sure but it doesn't have a/c and it's a Texas truck. That's just wrong...

Re: Take a look at this trucks dash .

Besides the gauges being in the middle of the dash, it looks to be really well built. Just not my thing.

Re: Take a look at this trucks dash .

Its a very nice truck, Ive seen it in several shows in the Wichita falls area.
The dash isn't really my style, but was done very well.
Wierd thing is, I could have sworn it said somewhere it was an 85 at one of the shows.

Re: Take a look at this trucks dash .

Nice truck but nt my cup of tea. Not only an issue with the gauges and no AC but to pay 19k for a truck with a gas tank in the BED, WTF.!?

They don't make 19's but you can find 18's or 20's on the American racing website- HERE

Yeah, I remember seeing the truck featured in Truckin'. The article said that the dash is custom made from steel and fiberglass.

It does have quite a stagger with 255/40/17s and 295/40/20s.
Now, that you mentioned it, I wonder how 67-72 gauges would look in the custom dash. BTW, the truck looks nicer in the layout in Truckin'.

Go figure... and the owner is an air-conditioning contractor. BTW, It looks like it has 4 billet A/C vents on the topside of the dash near the windshield. So, maybe it's A/C-ready.?

It started out as a 2wd '74 shortbox and built with parts from a '85 and a '88. It sits on a '85 frame.

It's actually a 5/7 static drop. 2" drop spindles with 3" drop springs in front and a hanger/shackle kit with 3" drop leaves.

Reminds me of the gauge placement in the Saturn Ion. I rented one of these a few months ago and it drove me crazy having to look over at the gauges.

Funny...I was looking at that truck last night on ebay. Pretty cool..but the dash is too plain looking for my liking.
