Proportioning valve needed?

Hi Guys,
Don't post much cause someone's usually asked my question in a previous thread. I'm doing the much asked about disc/brake conversion. I have all '85 components to put on my '63 except for the proportioning valve. Do I need it? I've checked alot of the wrecking yards around here but haven't found one. If I do need it, does anybody have a reasonably priced spare?
