Rear leaf arch 4X4-4X2
What's the difference between the arch on 4X4 vs 4X2 rear leaf springs?
I converted my 68 GMC 2wd to 4wd. The front axle and springs are from a 70 blazer, as is the t/case and 4 speed. The rear springs are the 2wd ones the truck came with, but I had to use 4" blocks in the rear to bring it level with the stock front 4wd suspension. Iwould like to put a 4" lift on it, but with the blocks in the back, more blocks aren't the answer. Would the rear leaves from a 4X4 make it right? And yes, adding the 4X4 front axle to the 2wd frame without another to look at or measure was a PITA, but it all works fine.

You need the rear spring, front hangers I have. They are off a 68 K-20. That will set the rear at the rite heights for 4X4. The one on the right is the 68 4X4.

Are your frame rails parallel or do they bow out at the rear axle area? These are off a parallel (4X4) so you might have to work on them a little that way. The heights will be correct thow. If you want them $25.00 to your door. Later Willis

One more thing I just thought of to is the spring width. 67-68 4X4 are 3" wide at the hanger area I`m gessing yours are 2 1/4". I gess you could use spacers there. Later Willis

The wider perches might help to adjust to the difference in frames.Another thought is there are shackle reversal hangers that give 4 or 6 inches of lift.They`re a couple hundred bucks.But if those perches don`t do the trick...
You say your lifting the truck 4",also,right?Either way,you could get away from blocks with these.BTW,welcome and nice truck.
