Re: column to floor shift (pics?)

Hey TX cowboy, you will have a hard time using someone else's mesurements. There are some differences in tranny position, though they will be minor. The other differences will be in floor shifters. They may mount a little different or be closer further from the floor or other variables that make a difference. The best way I have found to do this is to mount the shifter without the shifter arm and then put it thru the gears marking the throw or distance the shifter lever moves in each gear.By doing so you can cut the smallest workable hole in your floorboard. Each brand of shifter will come with installation procedures that should be followed. It may also come with a template for the hole in the floor.

Re: column to floor shift (pics?)

Okay, here's the voice of experience speaking. I've provided a couple pics for you based on what I've learned. I started out with my shifter all the way forward because I didn't know it was adjustable. That is why you see the shifter mounted all the way back now and the big hole in front of it. I would recommend that you mount the shifter on the rails using one of the last couple holes as your baseline. I've used a red circle indicating where you might want to cut a hole, but if you place the shifter all the way back on the rails, there's no reason to cut there. Use my shifter placement as a guide for where you'll put yours and I'm sure you'll do well. Let me know if I can help answer more questions.
