new billet dash with autometers
kind of a splurge/impulse buy. the bezel is from brothers... they didnt include screws to screw the back part of bezel to the front part... but i love the way it turned out!!!!! this is not a cheap mod.

Re: new billet dash with autometers
If it's not annodized I would strongly suggest having it clear annodized or you'll forever be trying to keep finger prints and such off of it plus it will oxidize. I bought mine from Javier who was on the board a while back and it was bare aluminum but after annodizing, no problems.

Nice set up. I am trying to mimic the look, but cheaper.

Your gonna enjoy those - is the speedo mechanical or electric?

Re: new billet dash with autometers
i dont think yall even want to know my total cost invested... hahahaha too much. this cost as much as the heads i was gonna get off ebay.. the speedo is mechanical. bought the gauges from jegs. delivery is great on light parts... ( they suck at shipping heavy parts... they put my cam/lifters, roller rockers, torque converter,2 timing chains, gasket set, and lube all in one light duty box... which i tried to pcik up and it pretty much fell apart after delivery.
i went and got some led turn signals and high beam indicator today and the bolts to hold it all together. wired all the lights together. eventually ima order some blue 5led wide angle 194's for it.we already put some in and it looks insanely nice.(borrowed them from friend) all gauges but speedo are electrical and came with senders and all. bezel is overpriced in my opinion... i have no idea if its anodized. how much does anodizing cost for something like this? im about to rebuild the engine so this will go in after the rebuild might take a month or two for pics in truck... i have an aftermarket steering wheel from grant so seeing is not a problem. im hooking all my gauges up separately from the stock harness which is giving me nothing but problems...

Re: new billet dash with autometers
Brad. I like what you're doing with moving things around so you can see the gauges. The factory location was not one of GM's brightest moments. One thing that I've always wanted to do is to move the lower edge of the panel out, making it easier to see the lower gauges. I don't know what it would look like, but if you're custom building a panel, it could be worth trying.

I saw an Ebay post not too long ago with the dash moved out and it didn't look right. I think instead GM should have made the gauges angled up in their sockets.

Re: new billet dash with autometers
Try not to rez posts if you can, maybe next time just PM the poster with a pleasant "I really like your dash bezel, do you mind telling me where you got it?". Try Dixietruckworks.com for your year parts and accessories.
