Complete Dash Removal

I went to a wrecker and cut out a compete unmolested dash out of a 67. Only paid 10 bucks for it. It should make a nice wall hanging in my garage. I will get some pics.

Re: Complete Dash Removal

That sounds cool. I have seen dashes mounted at Brothers. I never thought about doing it in my garage...would be cool, I think.

Re: Complete Dash Removal

Here's some pics. I grabbed this Manual floor center hump also. I don't know if its worth anything, but I took it because I have seen so many cut up for other trannys and it looks all factory. Maybe I will sell it.

Re: Complete Dash Removal

It wasn't pretty. They are spot welded where the windshield is mounted at the bottom. The glass was still in so I decided to remove the pad and cut under the pad. Then there is three bolts in each side you have to remove , under the column 2 bolts. I used a cordless jigsaw to cut under the dash pad( that worked slick ) Remove the heater controls and all that stuff

Then some grunting and groaning because the jigsaw doesn't cut into the corners, used some tin snips there and out she comes. .

I figured with the extra parts that one accumulates over the years I could make a complete dash and hang it on my wall.

Re: Complete Dash Removal

It is actually very easy, there are like 30 or so spot welds that need to be drilled out and 2 bolts on either side up under the dash. Then it comes right out, just time consuming...Check the pics

Re: Complete Dash Removal

Here you go, mount some speakers and radio in it and have an original boom box hanging on the wall.
