Post COMP.CAMS!!!!!!

I am planning on buying a hyd. roller cam for my 383 sbc. I am planning on going with a Comp. cam! Has any one ever seen or heard of any failures? On another board there is a few pictures of one that failed, I would hate for this to happen to me, I dont know if it is something that is defective from comp. or what, but take a look at it.http://www.chevytalk.org/forums/Forum64/HTML/008654.html

What you guys think happened here?

by the way, this is not my car,and I dont have a clue who it is, it just caught my attention due to me getting ready to order a hyd roller cam kit from Comp.

Sam

I have heard nothing negative about the comp hydraulic rollers. The extreme energy series of flat tappet cams had failures for awhile. I would run a cam that is compatible with an iron distributor gear. If the Comp is not, I'd consider switching manufacturers. Bronze gears just don't last that long on the street, and at $40 or so, it adds up.

i bought one from comp cams and it was supposed to be small enough to work w/ stock springs and push rods. and b/c it was supposed to work i went w/ the smaller cam to save money. well i didnt work and i ended up having to buy a kit to retro fit adjustable rockers plus new rockers for it for another $200.
