Shifter ideas/pics

I've converted my GMC from three-on-the-tree to a Muncie M20 4 speed and I'm looking for a shifter handle. I have a Hurst Competition Plus shifter with a stub to bolt a handle to. What are you floor shift guys doing for handles? I want something that I don't have to reach for, that will also clear a bench seat. I know Hurst has a plethora of bolt on handles, but which ones? Can I fab one myself? How? Any other sources? Please post pics of your setup so I can get ideas. Thanks!

Re: Shifter ideas/pics

Here ya go Russell.. Mine's a wrench.

It's not too hard at all to make something that'll bolt to your Hurst shifter.. I'd like to make a shifter out of a cut-down lever from a stock truck. I think it would look good in mine. Another nice touch would be to use a stock style round boot.

LOL - nice one!

I think a big rubber boob would work well as a handle. Hmmm...

Re: Shifter ideas/pics

Hurst should build Competition Plus shifters, or some sot of short throw shifter for granny-gear pick-up trannys. They'd sell oodles of them to guys with old trucks like us.
