Good deal or not?

I have always liked the old burbs but around here they are few and far between. Well I ran across one the other day and it seems like a decent deal. Just wanted to run it buy you all to see, and also what should I look for when/if I go to look at it. As far as burbs go I don't know the typical rust spots for them like I do the trucks. The add and picture are listed below.

1972 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN, 350 sb, auto, power steering, lowered, white, new Chevy seats, Price Reduced! $3, 800 or best offer

Thanks

Re: Good deal or not?

That`s a great price from what I see.The rockers, like trucks, rust and is no big deal. The rear quarters are the problem area.

Or Best Offer: I'd offer $3500, but be prepared to pay more. You'ed be doing very well for that price if it is as good as it looks.

Re: Good deal or not?

Finally got the guy on the phone. Older cheapo paint job that is just starting to bubble around the rockers. He said that the passenger rear quarter has a nickle sized hole in it, right by the spare tire carrier. Other than that he said the truck is solid. He said $3600 firm for it so I don't know if I'll get it or not.

Thanks for the help

Re: Good deal or not?

The front clip is either a '69 or '70. Most people who switch clips, usually use a '67 or '68. Something to ask about...

That Burb has been for sale in the truck trader for months, gotta wonder why it hasn't sold.

Re: Good deal or not?

I don`t buy the nickle-size hole story.Either way,the same work involved.It`s worth a look.But,I`d say that`s a nickle-sized hole in the bondo.

Re: Good deal or not?

??? That sounds like a really good price to me and it looks beautiful in the picture. If they are hard to come by in Ketucky and it looks as good as it does in the picture, I'd say its a steal. The grill is 69/70

Re: Good deal or not?

He said the previous owner put the 69/70 grill in but he has the 72 grill along with some other misc. parts for it. Might go look at it this friday or saturday and take $3200 cash and see what happens.
