Re: 67 chevy 1-ton front disc brakes ?
I converted my 68 chassis (same as yours) to discs using a complete front crossmember swap from a 72 model dually. You can use any donor from 71 up through 87 though.

Shanes Chevys used the front suspension from an 89 dually on is 69 one ton. It has the hydostatic breaks and it stops really well.

Re: 67 chevy 1-ton front disc brakes ?
71/72 will pretty much be a direct bolt in... maybe some mods to run the brake lines... later cross members are almost a bolt in... I think there's a couple holes that need egged out a little.
Something to keep in mine, on the 67 - 70, the wheel studs were 1/2 inch, in 71 they went to 9/16, so you'll need a couple wheels, which moving to 16 inch rims will save you money next time you need tires too. |
