Question Measuring rear springs

I am ready to purchase a 6" lift kit for my '72 GMC K2500. My question is how do you measure the rear springs to know if I should order 52" or 56" rear springs? Any help is appreciated. Randy

Re: Measuring rear springs

Measure eye to eye on your truck rear springs(eyelet of shackle to eyelet of frame spring hanger) Bend the tape measure with the arc of the springs. Where u getting your lift from?

Re: Measuring rear springs

I've checked several places on the internet...Rocky Mountain Suspension, Jackit, 4 Wheelers Supply (which has free shipping). Do you have any suggestions?

Re: Measuring rear springs

I thought you were supposed to measure in a straight line eye to eye. Cause a 4" spring and a 6" spring are going to measure different from each other if you follow the curve. I could be wrong, happens alot.

I would think you measure in a straight line from eye to eye also. I have tried a few different lift kits on my Blazer I would recomend going with a Tuff Country lift kit. I bought mine from Jackit, you can also get them from jc whitney and www.suspensionconnection.com .
