running gear conversion

my 68 C20 4x4 chevy has the stock rear /front running gear, can i still get parts for HO52 full float dropout rear and the dana44F closed knuckle front? or can i swap newer stuff in w/out much trouble?

You can swap in a newer Dana 44 which can get you disk brakes and open knuckle - that is a nice upgrade. You can also swap in a 14 bolt - one from a 1 ton will have the spring perches at the right location, ones from a 3/4 ton will have to be moved.

You can put a 14 bolt's locker and axles in an Eaton, I believe the axles have to be shortened a touch - but a search will get you more specific info on that. I think you can find alot of parts still available for both axles.
