How many trucks in your neighborhood?
Just curious how many of our style trucks are in your neighborhood? Went for a walk with my wife and kids tonight, (trying to get brownie points to buy the 454!) and saw 7 trucks within 3 blocks of my house. In this little city, I know of close to 20 of them running around, and see a new one about once a week. Is it just me, or does this seem like a lot?
When I get time, I'll grab the digicam and take some pics of the ones around town.

just 2 in my neghborhood.....of course, i have only one neighbor, and he's a mile away from me. he's got a 72 long fleet over there that hasn't moved in a couple years, i need to go bug him about it sometime, and mine is the other one. there are several in town that I can think of right off the top of my head.

Yep, I can imagine that there would be a bunch out there. I know when I go to my mother's farm, I always see 10-15 of them when I'm out driving around. How's Ol'Buck doing? Bet it's nice having the new cab on!

There's mine.. and there's mine.. and there's mine.
Not too many around here. I see some once in a while, but they are usually passing through. Saw a pretty nice Burb today on 101.

Well, I also can say not so many around here = none. I live city about 24 000 in Finland and we have quite much of the older American cars but no Chevy/GMC trucks between 67-72 except mine

I can think of 4-5 within easy walking distance of me. One of them is a pretty nice original rust-free 69 3/4 2wd 350/4speed sitting under the trees in the back alley near here. It hasn't moved in several years. There woun't be much of it left in a while.

None there just isn't any 67-72 chevys up here, in upstate NY I've been here 2 years and maybe have seen 3. I'm from Akansas and these truck are everywhere, any parking lot you go to you will see at least 2 some are restored but most are just daily drivers.

I see a few every day. Within a mile of me there are 8 that I know of, but I'm sure there are alot more.
(I've raised that number twice, keep remembering another) |

There's three in my subdivision of about 100 homes. I routinely see about a dozen within a few miles of home being driven, and another half dozen or so that I see in yards - they don't seem to ever move. I'm sure there are many more in back yards and garages. I see a fair number of 60-66 era trucks around as well.
On my commute into Atlanta I see a good number of our trucks. I see some that are ragged out and on their last leg, but most are in pretty good shape. I must say that I also see quite a few old F@rds out there too.

Randy.....the truck is lots better from a distance. The guy has started using it as a "street class/bracket racer." He has stripped/gutted the bed, front clip and cab.
BED - no wood....you can see the ground looking from the top FRONT CLIP - no inner fenders, no bumper, taken heater box out CAB - no carpet, no door panels, no radio, no dash pad, etc..... OTHER - NO mufflers - straight headers (real nice at 12:00 A.M when he decides to crank it up just to impress his visiting buddies) - spider gears welded in rear end, so forth and so on....... The sad part is the truck was complete and a pretty nice piece before he started taking stuff off of it......I have asked him about maybe selling or trading me the truck for something lighter weight since he is planning on racing it... but his reply to me was "Its just an old truck.....whats the big deal?" He really is a super nice guy, but some folks dont see these "old trucks" the the same way that WE do...... |

Way too many
I see many every day. There's at least 20 around town and 5 of them are green and white! Great. I see burbs and blazers every day also. It's starting to get out of control, it's great that these trucks are popular but I don't want to see them become "A dime a dozen" The new trend in CA seems to be to restore an old Chevy. I see tons of Scouts and Broncos too. San Diego is very "Trendy"

There are a few running around here on Camp Pen and lots in San Diego. I went up to a place called Turlock, CA (about 2 hours north of Fresno) for the 4th and saw 100's of them running around. They were in all kinds of shape from your beat-to-death farm trucks to your street trucks to some really sweet 4x4's.

2 in Fenton (10,000 people or so)--mine & a guy just inside town limits.
Might be five in Flint. Only seen five, but I couldn't ID the plates to be sure they were from Genesee County. But there is a nice '69 C60 flatbed at one of the salvage yards in Flint. It's still earning its keep like a good Chevrolet.

hmmmm
In my imediate neighbor hood, there is a 72 I think it is, next door, covered in junk, but it seems real straight....too bad it's just sitting there and the guy doesn't want to sell any parts from it. block away there is a beater black primer 68, its got a chrome skull on the floor shifter....pretty cool looking. there was a 69 across the street that I was gonna buy....before my 68, but it's gone now.....oh yeah I have a 68 in my back yard for parts!!!! hee hee, but I see them all the time. there are three or four of them around my girlfreinds neighberhood.
Here in san marcos, you see a few here and there.....I've seen a blue fleetside beater, a white 69 beater, a Blue 71 beater for sale, one real sweet cherry red 67 by a church. 2 beaters off of I35, that have been sitting for months at a shop...yet they are still 'customers' trucks...hmmm. there is a primered sweet looking 71 on campus, also a yellow white topped longbed 72, a bad beater with Starter problems I've seen...these are some I see on a regular basis for the most part.
