Re: 2wd lift
My son just had one one made, suspension lift that is, here at a local suspension shop. I'll see what info I can get. I believed he searched and could not find anyone who made them anymore.

Re: 2wd lift
Fabtech used to make a long travel 4" kit that could clear 33x12.50 tires, 35s with some fiberglass. This place has some left http://www.truckaddons.com/Catalog/s...hevy_2wd_5.htm

Re: 2wd lift
I've read where people have gotten 1-2 inches of lift by putting in coils from 1 tons and 3/4 tons with 454's (heavy duty coils). I just bought some 2 inch lift coils off of ebay, but they're not here yet. I think they're made by rough country, but i couldn't find how to buy them individually on their website.

Re: 2wd lift
I just converted to 4x4
Added 1 ton springs front and rear, 1 ton rear diff, but only a 3/4 ton 10 bolt front, cause Dana 60 diffs are too expensive, lol

Re: 2wd lift
the HD coils will level out the truck and you can run 31-32"s, (I have HD coils with 32x11.50s on my truck, link at bottom)..
Coils will lift your truck but you will wear ball joints and tie rods faster as it puts them at an steeper angle.. also you will have little to NO droop in the suspension.. body lifts are ok, but have alot of problems associated.. adjust your steering, electrical connections, lift bumpers... etc... i prefer to stay away from body lifts... there are advertised lifts, but they are just coils, Fabtechs kit is coils and possibly tubular control arms.. (if the ball joint mounting area is degreed then they wont wear as much)... However.. NOBODY currently sells a lift spindle, which would be the best way to go to keep proper geometery.. AIM ( )use to sell them, but quit due to little interest.. with some work you could swap ball joints (and/or control arms, i am not sure what is involved with this as i havent gotten that far yet) you could use 88-98 lift spindles...

Re: 2wd lift
It is possible to use the 88 up spindles. You can check the FAQ board and there is a post on using 88 up drop spindles and what is required to do so.

Here
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ad.php?t=35042 There is some reading to do but looks like it has been done to get 88 up brakes ,stock heigth or drop spindles as well as production 6 bolt rotors.

Re: 2wd lift
this mostly talks about 67-72, would this work on 73-87s as well and also, would i have to run the 6 lug rotors, i dont need those and dont want to have to convert my rear end...

Re: 2wd lift
The upper controll arms Not sure if they are the same Think they are but...not for sure.
You need lower 67-70 controll arm. Now the 87 trucks have the rubber controll arm bushings not sure how they bolt in but if you can put a older style lower A arm in place it should work. First Gen posted Page 3 Read on buddie, You can get 5 lug rotors. Threy 67-70 guys wanted the 6 lugs so they did not have to change the rear axel. Quote:

Re: 2wd lift
Might want to talk to the last poster on this thread. He's put the 88+ lift spindles on a 73-87.

Re: 2wd lift
I got mine raised 3" just by adding a new front suspension with new springs.
