I often wonder the same thing about myself.... but as a civil engineer I'm either hassling on the phone with a contractor or owner, or drawing something up in autocad. Autocad kills your eyes. I have to take a break from it every half hour or so or my eyes start to hurt. That's how I post so much, plus I work 9 to 10 hour days....

Anyway, A LONGHORN CREWCAB??? Holy crap. Didn't know any existed. I've gotta see some pics of that baby.

Re: Longhorn crewcab pics??

After searching the net the last few hours for it I can finally say I have found the mystical beast it does indeed exist even in a tiny pic (as of now), but that's better than nothin' I guess, is supposed to be still in IL bought out of WI, I found 2 phone listings for the owner (no email info) so I may have to contact him sometime.

EDIT: Andy my man, I just remembered that you in fact knew about this one, because you asked ~quote~ Now Mr J**** in which page should this one go? in the Longhorn page or the crewcab page~unquote~

Re: Longhorn crewcab pics??

Wasn't there another one here in the past 2 months or so? - only it had a suicide door on the drivers side and no rear door on the passenger side? It was loooonnnnggg and as I remember, it was a couple different colors still..... I may be getting to the ICRS stage myself. If I can't drink it, eat it or crawl on it and its in front of me, I don't remember it!

luvlegs, I couldn't find the one you speak of with the suicide door, I only found this one but is a longbed, not longhorn.

Are you sure this photo is legit, the rear door looks like a front door. I thought they were different.

Nope, that's how they did it back in the day as far as I know. The "restored" ones that have been popping up (there was a georgous copper colored one with a 90 something silverado 4x4 suspension on a few months ago) are usually a cut down suburban because they have the squared off doors that look better than the pics of the longhorn above. There were some extended cabs that had funny lookin back windows. None of these trucks are "factory" but they were converted by a company to extended or crew cab, usually by just "adding a cab" thats why the doors look funny.

You mean this pic?

if I wasn't sure, then this thread would be about asking if this was an original crewcab, back in the day this is how original crewcabs were made, 2 cabs put together.

Here's an original crewcab owned by a fine fellow board member crews this one is the longbed version, the one I was looking for is a Longhorn.

Re: Longhorn crewcab pics??

Actually Paul...that one USED to belong to Crews. He sold it, but he got a good price, and it went to the best home it could go to.
Not all the 'factory' crew cabs had the 4 front doors, there were 3 door ones and simple extended cab trucks done too.
If you look on THIS page of my site, you'll see a few "stock" extended cabs.

While they were not built by GM, they are still considered stock GM trucks by man, including GM. There was a company here in Columbus that left for one of the Carolinas a few years ago called ASC. They did the conversions on cavalers and camaros when GM wanted convertables...GM didn't do it, it was an after production conversion, they also did work for other companies, my old 89 town car had a fake convertable top that was installed by them too.

I think that second one had a gastric bypass.Actually,it reminds me of the Japjunk quad-cabs that have all the bed behind the axle. You can`t carry a full load without bringing three passengers along.
