here's what I got done
Hey everybody. Finally got the 3/4 ton running. Sounds horrible, barely moves and broke a brake line, but it is running and moving. Crazy! It only took me a year to put this piece of garbage together . I am working on a new frame for it now. Should be a lot better once I get new brake and fuel lines, gas tanks, etc. Also got the motor out of my stepside, and getting that ready for the junkyard. Should clean up the driveway pretty well. I put most of the junk that has been cluttering up my garage in the stepside, so that will kill two birds with one stone . Anyhow, I will be trying to post a video here mostly for my amusement. Have a good one guys!

Re: here's what I got done
Hi. I took a look at what's left this morning. The column (non-tilt, but pretty solid), dash bezel looks very good, no cracks, I think everything else is pretty much wasted.

Re: here's what I got done
Hi, thanks for the message. I used to have a black 1985 stepside, but this one is green, and it's SHOT. I wanted to rebuild it, but it's just so far gone. The floors are rotted right through the rocker, so there would be nothing to weld to. The spring hangers are gone, and the bed is wasted. I know, I know, these things are impossible to find, but I think it would take a miracle to bring this one back.

Re: here's what I got done
I hear you man. Life is complicated. I have four kids, and a four hour drive every other Sunday to go get my stepdaughter. My wife works nights at the Emergency room, so I take care of them as soon I get home. For example, right now (10:28pm) I just finished cleaning up from dinner, getting the kids' bath, reading books, and putting them to bed, doing some laundry, etc. I am going outside to pull the shift bellcrank off, and a few other pieces I may need or sell. It's way worse than it looks. I am sure it's possible to fix (anything is possible with time and money), but no takers at $250, and I would feel bad taking someone's money anyway, unless they really knew what they were getting into. I didn't pay anything for it, and got a free engine. I just want to put my time and money into the 3/4 ton, and save up for a ragtop first gen Camaro... someday. It will take a LONG time. Anyhow, thanks for the kind words. Anybody here is welcome to the stepside if they come get it. I am sure most if not all are too far away anyhow. Take it easy!

Crosby, if you were around here -- I'd snatch that K10 up in an instant at 250 bucks!

Re: here's what I got done
Amen to what mhicks says! People that put the important stuff first will get their rewards - it may take time but you're DEFINATELY going in the right direction! That's the kind of person you like to see get on "Overhauling" or receive such things! I don't usually hang over here (have a '72) but when I saw Crosby's post, I had to take my hat off. If only everyone in the country would follow that example.....
