73' on a 69'?
hi,
i was wondering if i could take the 5 lug front and rear end out of a 73' c10 and put it under a 69' c10? will this work? |

Yes and maybe! You can do the entire front crossmember swap with no problem. I should say minimal trouble. You will have to mod the brake lines since they come in differently.
The rear is a maybe. It won't bolt in unless your 69 has leaf springs. If I remember correctly all 69's were coil spring rears (assuming you are talking about a 2wd). You can modify the mounts to work, but there still might be a catch. I think it was 69-70 that had two different width rear ends. You will need to verify that the rear ends are the same width....

ok, i have the coil springs. thats good news. and its 2wd, any special (kit) i can buy to modify the brake lines?

u can do it one of 2 ways...you can swap the whole thing..belly pan and all or just swap the spindles ..rotors..calipers..brake hoses and steering linkage...and you'll have to buy new ball joints ...and i would just run new brake lines in the front........

the 73+ rear ends.are all leafs,you could cut the mounting pads off the old one and weld them to the 73+ rear.The only problem is the panard bar(track bar)the 73+ rears do not have a place to bolt them on.Find a 71-72 rear and bolt in.or pull the 6 bolt axles and have them re-drilled with the 5 lug pattern

im just gonna use the frnt end, ill put 6 lug rotors so i can keep my western turbines. itll be easier, less modifying
