gapless rings
Has anyone used gapless rings on the street? If so, would you use them again, or do you you have any horror stories? Looking for pro's and con's for my daily driver. Thanks for all replys. Good luck and keep on truckin'.......Jerry

I have a set of total seal gapless rings in my pontiac. I have a very low leakdown rate, and even with the pcv valve disconnected, I dont get any oil vapors or oil leaks anywhere. I dont have a great deal of mileage on them, so I'm afraid I can't say personally if they pay in the end.
As "Joe motorist", I don't notice any difference over a traditional set. My honest opinion is that it doesn't warrant the extra cost on a street driver.

My thoughts exactly, the extra cost is not something you will feel in the seat of the pants buttmeter. They are good, but your $$ can be better spent elsewhere. When you are trying to squeeze 1-2hp out of a purpose built race engine then go gapless, but on a daily street warrior I'd just use a good quality set of moly rings.
