This may sound crazy, I like the small back windows of the 67 trucks. I have a 68 gmc with a large slider, If I got my hands on the back panel of a 67 with the small window and trimed it just right, I am thinking that I could just fit into the large window opening and weld/finish it off. Has anyone ever done this? How did it go? I really do not want to mess with swapping cab. Thanks for your help!

Small windows rock! I've heard some guys on here explain how much of a pain they are to drive because of the limited visibility, especially in todays traffic, but that's why most of these trucks came factory with LARGE rear view mirrors. If you're really good at welding body panels it shouldn't be too difficult. Good luck!

Maybe someone would just trade your cab for a 67 small window...two cabs saved everyones happy...Come on somebody has got to be somewhat close and up for a trade right?

I reallydon't want to do the cab thing, I also dont want to trash a good cab. I also need a windshied for my 68 gmc, Maybe if rickstrucks cab doesn't sell???? I can get the windshield and just the back panel with glass shipped up??? Thats scary to ship glass but I guess it happens all the time! Keep me posted.

I`ve wondered the same thing.The flanges are there.It needs to be built out,it`s too deep as it is.I was thinking some day I`d try this:Gut out the back panel are on a`67(trashed,of course)cab,mark the large window opening on it,bend a 90deg. along that outline with the flange(bend)being the depth of the gasket flange,ang mig it/smooth it.Maybe weld reinforcement to the inside of the flat area on the`67 panel,1)to help against distortion and 2)to support what you put on the inside to flush the inner panel.
